The multi-award-winning music producer and DJ Andrea Ljekaj maintains his position on the global charts with his high-calibre original music and remixes released on Get Physical, Oddity, Elrow, and Endangered. His dynamic, deep, multicoloured approach encompasses everything from downtempo and dubstep to house and techno.
Andrea smartly decided to premiere his first release on Atje, a recently founded record label and music concept, with "Sapore Puro," after taking a year off to create a new, distinctive sound. With its incorporation of sounds from ambient, downtempo, house, and bass music, this release represents a key turning point in a varied and fascinating new direction. The word "Sapore Puro" means "pure flavour," which implies a special and unique sound.
"Sapore" is a strong opener with a rhythmic, deep electronic vibe and a layered, subtle, cinematic feel to it. As if it were the perfect soundtrack for a film that hasn't yet been created but should be. Blues elements give it a strobing sense of soul and emotion. All components seem to work together to create a bigger, interwoven musical narrative that builds tension and evokes a cosmic mood. It's easy not to forget "Sapore"!
On the other hand, "Puro" is a high-energy drum and bass track that features a psychedelic section with organic percussion, a melodic layer in the background, and a bit omnius, but powerful, distorted vocal. The drum and bass bassline has been deconstructed and almost muted, giving this dynamic track a haunting quality.
Andrea has been experimenting with these sounds for many years through various projects, and he was excited to finally bring them all together in this style-opening release for Atje.
